Duke of Edinburgh Award

Duke of Edinburgh Award

The Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) is the world’s foremost leading award in recognising the outstanding achievements of young pupils outside the classroom.  Recognised internationally, holding the award has been voted the most valuable CV item by places of work and institutes of higher education.

At all three levels, DofE requires young people to demonstrate exceptional commitment, team work, independence, organization and adaptability in order to achieve their award status.

It is part of our curriculum here at Bolingbroke as they mirror our BE BOLD Values – Bravery, Excellence, Being 100% No Excuses, Opportunity, Leadership and Determination.  All pupils take part in an activity falling under one of the 3 DofE Sections on a Friday afternoon: Volunteering, Skill or Physical Activity.   We are pleased to say we are an independently licenced centre that currently offers the Bronze award with plans to install Silver and Gold levels in the near future.

Here at Bolingbroke we are pleased to offer the opportunity for our pupils to be recognised individually for commitment to their own personal interests, whatever those may be.  This award celebrates the diversity of our pupils interests and supports them through their journey to higher education and employment.
