Exceptional GCSE Results at Bolingbroke Academy

Congratulations to all our Year 11 pupils for their exceptional GCSE results! 

This year’s Year 11 sat new GCSE examinations in all three Sciences, Humanities, Modern Foreign Languages, Art, Food Science and PE.  A truly impressive 94% of pupils achieved Grades 9-4 in English and 86% Grades 9-4 in Maths.  Across the board our pupils achieved half a grade higher than pupils with a similar starting point across all ability levels. Overall, nearly 50% of our pupils’ grades were 9-6 (A*-B equivalent to previous grading system) with incredible attainment at across all subjects.

All our EBacc subjects performance superbly:

In English 94% achieved Grades 9-4 and in Maths 85% achieved Grades 9-4 placing us in first position in the Ark Schools network, the highest performing non selective state school and second state school overall, in Wandsworth. This also places us 19% higher than the national average.

In our sciences 100% of pupils achieved Grades 9-4 in Biology, Chemistry and Physics supporting our STEM specialist Sixth Form with a record number of students for this year’s Sixth form cohort.

Our Humanities results were exceptional; History - 93% achieved Grades 9-4 & 86% achieved Grades 9-5, in Geography 76% achieved Grades 9-4 & in Religious Studies 100% achieved Grades 9-5.

Modern Foreign Languages; in Spanish 97% achieved Grades 9-4 & 88% achieved Grades 9-5 and in French 85% achieved Grades 9-5.

In our non-Ebacc subjects’ pupils did extremely well, with all achieving 76% and above in all subjects. 

Our first Year 12 cohort, the Class of 2019 achieved an incredible set of Extended Project Qualification results; 37% achieving Grades A*-A, 70% Grades A*-B (10% above National), and 91% achieving Grades A*-C (15% above National).  Our Professional Pathways Science BTEC Level 3 achieved spectacular results with a 100% pass rate and a terrific number of distinctions and merits. 

A particular mention should be made to twins Zayd & Tanisha Addicott who between them acheived a phenomenal 17 Grade 9's and 2 Grade 8's and caught the eye of the Evening Standard newspaper! We are enormously proud of these achievements and we are delighted that you will be staying for Sixth Form at Bolingbroke.

Our pupils GCSE results are a testament to our pupil’s hard work, determination and courageous attitudes to excel in their futures.  I would like to thank all the teaching staff, academic support staff and operations staff for all their exceptional work to support and empower every child to BE BOLD throughout their secondary education.

The Governors and I would like to wish every Year 11 pupil every success with their next chapter, and to the vast majority who are returning to Bolingbroke Academy Sixth Form; we look forward to starting the new Academic year with you.
