Year 12 enjoy day trip to Oxford

Last week Year 12 headed to Oxford where they visited Jesus College, had lunch in the college, heard a talk on the meaning of life and then attempted a spot of punting on the river.

Certainly a lot to pack in one day, which also included a treasure hunt around the key sites in the city centre, though according to head of humanities Ms Gelder who organised the trip, the highlight was probably the punting, which is not as easy as it looks as the students soon found out!

It wasn’t all messing about on the river though, but part of a team bonding exercise also aimed at helping to raise the aspirations of the students and encourage them to consider Oxford as a future university destination.

Ooops, this is wobblier than it seems!

"We hope that the day helped raise the pupils' aspirations and awareness of Oxbridge and encourages them to consider applying in the future," said Ms Gelder.
