On Friday 6th July, Bolingbroke Academy, Wandsworth hosted the annual London Rock Wrangle organised by Times Tables Rock Stars, where over 50 schools from across Greater London competed in a huge Times Tables-Off.

The event saw over 150 students, aged between 10 - 12, compete in a series of heats and the grand final, to see who would be crowned the Supreme Ultimate Rock Hero for Eternity at their Times Tables. The winner, Ali Al-Bhadly from Addison Primary School in Hammersmith, answered an incredible 402 multiplication questions correctly in 3 minutes. His prize was a helicopter flight over London for him and his team!

Marco was our Bolingbroke Times Tables champion and narrowly missed out on a place in the extremely competitive semi-finals. Bring on next year! “

Times Tables Rock Stars (www.ttrockstars.com) is the brainchild of Bruno Reddy, former Maths Teacher. It is a web and app-based programme which schools and families use to help their children improve their times tables recall speed and accuracy.

Bruno said “Rock Wrangles are a brilliant way to showcase the talents of the children in their times tables and to make maths fun.” This is one of a series of 2018 Rock Wrangle events for schools hosted by Times Tables Rock Stars across the UK.
