Bolingbroke pupil's painting commended in art exhibition
Eve's painting of a moorhen in Wimbledon Park Boating Lake which earned a well-deserved commendation in a recent art competition
A Bolingbroke Year 9 art pupil has had one of her paintings commended in the Capability Brown Society Art Exhibition and Competition 2019 which was set up to showcase the talent of young artists.
Eve’s painting of a moorhen on Wimbledon Park Boating Lake has been selected for commendation in the Year 7 – 9 age group, with 220 entrants to the overall competition whose theme this year was Adventure in Wimbledon Park.
“The quality of the work was so good that made it very hard for the judges to find winners,” commented the judging committee. “We spent ages judging the work and also made a lot of commendations – to use they were all winners! So please congratulate yourselves and all the students whose work was on display – a very well deserved pat on the back!”
This was the first time that Bolingbroke has entered the competition, and head of art and design Ms Gougeon said that Eve should be congratulated for doing so well.
There will be an exhibition of the art work in the Bowling Pavilion, Wimbledon Park, on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th November.
