How to handle your teen - a new course for parents
Slammed doors. Heated rows. Illicit smoking and drinking. Bunking off school. Nobody ever said being the parent of a teenager was easy. But sometimes we could all do with a little help in navigating these tricky years, and to address this a new parenting course is available to Bolingbroke parents and carers.
Parent talk, the teenage years, is a six week course run by a charity called Care for the Family who have teamed up with Bolingbroke’s Parents Association to provide the sessions free of charge.
The course starts on Monday 27th January and run weekly until March 9th (with a week off at half term on February 17th), and attendees are expected to attend all six sessions which run from 7.15pm – 9.15pm
You will have the chance to meet other parents, make friends and learn some helpful skills for dealing with your teenager. Some of the issues which will be discussed include how to stay connected; identity and self estaeem; communication and conflict; big pressures and making good choices; and letting go.
Parents can sign up via Classlist or here:
Places on this course are limited, but if we get high demand we will endeavour to run more courses. To register your interest for this course please RSVP by 15th January.
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR A SIX WEEK COMMITMENT COMMENCING MONDAY 27TH JAN WITH DATES UPTO 9TH MARCH.
