Pupils challenged to create book characters from potatoes in competition with a twist

The winner of the Principal's Choice award was Anais, who created a Smurf from a potato

As part of last week's World Book Day celebrations, pupils were invited to take part in a competition with a twist, in which they were challenged to design and create a book character of their choice - using a potato.

Many wonderful creations were entered, and Ms Meddle and Ms Robinson in the library were highly impressed with the creativity shown by many of the pupils

Louis was awarded the prize for creativity with his potato interpretaion of Zog

Prize for the best use of props went to Valentina for her Gangsta Granny creation

The artistic merit prize went to Millie for her White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland

Some of the fantastic potato characters entered into the competition
