Year 7 footballers maintain winning streak with 4-0 win over local rivals
Half-time team pep talk with Coach Ize
Bolingbroke Year 7 boys cruised to an easy 4-0 victory in last week’s friendly against Thames Christian College, who hosted the latest fixture under the lights at Falcon Park.
It was a game where BBA always looked comfortable with a goal apiece for Zaki, Jacques, Fin and Freddie, and was also a great opportunity for two new boys to make their school debuts having worked hard in the Development Squad in recent weeks.
“Tahu showed great potential at the base of the midfield while Jacques both scored and assisted in the final third,” said manager Jon De Maria. “It’s a great honour to be selected to represent one's school and both boys took their chance.”
He added that overall the team still needs to work hard in training, especially on its finishing, with several goals again left on the pitch.
“The coaches are looking to see the team play their football in a certain style,” continued De Maria. “The boys show flashes of this but still need to maintain for a full 60 minute match.”
After the game, coach Ize said ‘Playing football is very simple, but playing simple football is the hardest thing there is.”
The Bolingbroke squad remain undefeated after four games under their belt, but must continue to work hard in order to maintain this winning streak, added De Maria. “You don’t have to be ill to get better,” he told the squad.
