Bolingbroke 6th former wins cadets award
A huge shout out to Anthony, in Year 12, for his incredible extra-curricular achievements and dedication.
Anthony joined 34F Squadron in May 2021 and quickly established himself as an extremely driven individual. Anthony has thrown himself at each and every opportunity available to him and has built a rather impressive Cadet CV. Anthony is passionate about STEM and in particular Aviation, he has taken part in a range of projects including participation in the RTX Quadcopter challenge where he and a team of Cadets have built a drone, participated in a range of challenges and have made it through to the National Finals which are due to take part in December 2024. Anthony brings a great deal of enthusiasm to the activities he participates in and encourages his peers to participate in activities such as this. Anthony is an excellent cadet who deserves the recognition this award would bring"
Through cadets where he volunteers 4 hours a week Anthony also has first aid certificate, awards for road marching and radio communications, a cadet 50 award for accurate shooting at the Cadet Interservice Skill at Arms meetings in 2022 and 2023 and later on in 2024 he competed at the Interservice Cadet Rifle Meeting. Anthony also attends air and space camps and arms meetings to develop his capabilities.
In May, Anthony was awarded a Mayor’s pin badge for service to the community. He used his first aid skills to assist a veteran suffering a medical emergency at a VE Day event. The Mayor who was present was impressed with his response and demeanour in stepping in to help.
Anthony has been awarded the Pearson BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Teamwork and Personal Development in the Community. To achieve this he has passed 6 units including teamwork, communication and leadership skills, navigation and expedition skills and improving health and fitness for personal wellbeing.
