Diversity and inclusion

We aim to build a diverse and inclusive organisation where everyone – staff and students – can do their best work and achieve their full potential.

Our community

At Bolingbroke we value the individual and encourage difference. Our pupils know and understand the importance of showing respect to everyone, whatever differences we may have, and to everything, whether it is a school resource or a religious belief. We promote and celebrate diversity by celebrating events such as Black History Month, Pride, and different religious festivals over the course of each year.

Accessibility

Ark Bolingbroke is committed to providing a fully accessible environment, which values and includes all pupils, staff, parents and visitors regardless of their education, physical, sensory, social, spiritual, emotional and cultural needs. We are committed to challenging negative attitudes about disability and accessibility, and to developing a culture of awareness, tolerance and inclusion.

You can read about how our school curriculum caters to SEND learners here.

Curriculum

We reflect and represent diverse perspectives throughout our curriculum through our choice of topics, reading materials and trips out into the community.

Our staff and recruitment

We ensure that all employees applying are only measured against their skills, achievements and values. To achieve this, we start with inclusive recruiting practices such as blind recruiting and structured shortlisting and scoring.

The school is dedicated to training and develop their leaders and staff on diversity and inclusion through a programme of CPD sessions and online training.

Ark is an equal opportunity employer. Applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.
