Aurora Orchestra trip

On the 16th of October, Year 10 and 11 GCSE Music students went on an exciting trip to Drumsheds to attend the Inside the Orchestra schools' performance by the Aurora Orchestra. This unique event allowed students to experience two iconic pieces of symphonic music – Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite and Ravel’s Boléro – from within the orchestra itself. With Aurora’s musicians performing from memory and positioned across the vast warehouse space, students could stand close to the players, move freely around, and explore the performance from different perspectives. This immersive experience gave students a thrilling introduction to live orchestral music, enhancing their listening and understanding skills through interactive elements.
