Cambridge Summer School update
Two Bolingbroke pupils who have been taking part in ‘Axiom Maths Circles’ ran by Ms Rogers last year had the opportunity to take part in a Summer Residential at Cambridge University over the holidays. Below you can read a little bit about their experiences.

‘Over the summer I got to visit Churchill College in Cambridge. We had three days of lectures, activities and fun - and we got lots of nice gifts from Axiom maths. Axiom Maths reach out to children and schools helping them to realise their full potential in Maths, beyond the school curriculum. There were around 100 kids participating from all over the UK.
My favourite lecture was about shapes and smoke rings. All of them were really fun and engaging with time afterwards to try out some experiments that were shown. For example, I made interlocking hearts out of a mobius loop!
I loved that we also got to meet university students and learn about their studies and what life is like at uni, as well as trying student food and experiencing living in university accommodation. In the evenings we had plenty of time to chill and play games, sports and watch films’

'My time at Churchill College, Cambridge has been amazing. I’ve explored maths beyond the maths taught at school. From infinity to Mobius loops and smoke wings and business and finance. But this wonderful experience wasn’t only great due to the fascinating mathematics it also due to the many friends I made along the way. In my opinion, this was a one once-in-a-lifetime experience and if there was an opportunity to do it again, I wouldn’t wait a second to make the right choice and do it again’
