Medicines
If your child needs to take any medicine whilst at school, please complete the form below. The medicine and completed form can be handed in to Pupil Services or at Reception. Printed copies are also available at Reception.
If your child requires access to medication (including pain relief tablets), please follow the above procedure. If your child has a health care plan, for example, an auto-injector or ongoing/complex medical needs that you need to discuss, please raise this during your initial interview with the school. Alternatively, please email info@arkbolingbrokeacademy.org
First Aid & Illness at School
We have a number of British Red Cross Paediatric First Aid trained staff members across the Academy including administrative staff in reception and Pupil Services on the ground floor and several catering staff. With the permission of their class teacher, pupils may visit Pupil Services if they are feeling unwell at school. If they have a temperature above 38 degrees or have been ill, a parent/carer will be contacted to collect them. Please note, for safeguarding reasons, we are unable to allow unwell pupils to go home without being collected by a parent, carer, or other emergency contact. In cases of feeling mildly unwell where a high temperature is not present and none of the main Covid-19 symptoms are present, your child will be encouraged to see the school day through. We ask that parents and carers follow NHS return to school advice for the safety and well being of all.
Immunisations
Bolingbroke Academy works with our local NHS Trust to schedule routine immunisations during the school day. No pupil or student will ever be immunised without parental consent. Consent will be requested for each vaccination and is usually via an online link sent out through Bolingbroke Post. You can see which vaccines are usually offered (excluding covid-19) by clicking here.
